Urologic Care Available in Salem

Urologic conditions can affect the kidneys, bladder, prostate, urinary tract, sexual function, and other parts of the genitourinary system. Because similar symptoms can have different causes, an appropriate evaluation is an important first step.

At our Salem clinic, patients may receive care for concerns including:

  • Enlarged prostate and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
  • Urinary and voiding problems
  • Erectile dysfunction and other sexual health concerns
  • Kidney and urinary stones
  • Urinary incontinence
  • Urologic cancers and related conditions
  • Men's sexual wellness concerns
  • Vasectomy and vasectomy reversal
  • Other general and specialized urologic conditions

The appropriate evaluation and treatment depend on your individual condition. Dr. Diamond can discuss your symptoms, review your medical history, and determine whether additional testing or treatment is appropriate.

BPH and Enlarged Prostate Treatment

An enlarged prostate can cause frequent urination, urgency, a weak urine stream, difficulty starting urination, nighttime urination, and incomplete bladder emptying.

When lifestyle changes or medication are not providing adequate relief, procedural treatment may be an option for appropriately selected patients.

The Center for Advanced Urology offers minimally invasive BPH treatment options, including Rezūm™ Water Vapor Therapy. Rezūm uses controlled water vapor to treat targeted prostate tissue contributing to urinary obstruction. The body gradually processes the treated tissue, so improvement develops over time rather than immediately following treatment.

Dr. Diamond evaluates prostate anatomy, urinary symptoms, medical history, previous treatment, and individual goals before determining whether Rezūm or another BPH treatment is appropriate.

Men's Sexual Health in Salem

Sexual health concerns can have many potential contributing factors, including vascular health, medications, hormonal factors, neurologic conditions, and other medical or psychological considerations.

Our Salem clinic provides evaluation and treatment discussions for men's sexual health concerns, including erectile dysfunction and specialized sexual wellness services.

Depending on the patient's circumstances, treatment options may include established ED therapies as well as specialized treatments offered by the practice, such as P-Shot®, GAINSWave®, BOCOX™, and penile enhancement procedures.

Certain treatments may involve off-label uses of medications, injectable products, or other therapies. We discuss potential benefits, limitations, risks, alternatives, and realistic expectations during consultation.

Specialized Penile Enhancement Services

Center for Advanced Urology provides specialized penile enhancement procedures under physician-led care. Treatment options may include Diamond XL™ penile enhancement and other individualized approaches involving injectable or regenerative materials.

Because penile enhancement involves sensitive anatomy and individualized treatment considerations, candidacy should be determined through a medical consultation. Treatment planning may consider anatomy, previous procedures, medical history, desired degree of enhancement, treatment materials, and expectations.

Our Salem clinic provides a private setting where patients can discuss these concerns directly with a qualified urologist.

Diagnostic and Urologic Evaluation

Finding the cause of a urologic problem often requires more than discussing symptoms alone. Depending on your condition, your evaluation may include a physical examination, review of your medical history, laboratory testing, or other diagnostic procedures.

The practice provides diagnostic services that may include:

  • Cystoscopy
  • Urodynamic testing
  • UroCuff testing
  • PSA testing
  • Post-void residual assessment
  • Other urologic diagnostic evaluations when clinically appropriate

Not every patient needs the same testing. Dr. Diamond determines which evaluations are appropriate based on your symptoms and medical history.

A Physician-Led Approach

Choosing a urologist is about more than finding a convenient location. Your diagnosis, treatment options, and long-term care should reflect your individual health needs.

Dr. Diamond brings more than 30 years of urologic experience to patient care. His background includes general urology, BPH and voiding dysfunction, men's sexual health, minimally invasive procedures, and other areas of urologic medicine.

At the Salem clinic, treatment decisions are based on the patient's overall clinical picture rather than assuming that one treatment is appropriate for everyone.

What to Expect at Your Salem Appointment

Your first appointment provides an opportunity to discuss your concerns in a private medical setting.

Depending on the reason for your visit, you may discuss:

  • Your current symptoms and when they began
  • Changes in urinary or sexual function
  • Previous diagnoses or procedures
  • Current medications and supplements
  • Relevant medical conditions
  • Previous treatments and their effectiveness
  • Your treatment goals and concerns

If additional testing or evaluation is appropriate, the medical team can explain what is needed and why.
